A Year Has Passed
Hard to believe another year has passed on the farm. There have been triumphs and disappointments. The little creatures born this year are healthy, lively, and comical. There are a few older creatures that make aging difficult to observe. I know my time is coming too.
This year, the older ewes smashed the upper bone or femur of a yearling, and she, Toiletta, had to wear a cast for a month. The bone healed, and she has a different gate, her leg wobbling. But she made it!
There have been several goats' heads stuck in feeders and other odd places. This is not an unusual occurrence.
As for the triumphs, we traveled over four thousand miles, selling our yarns. We have met some wonderful people who share what they have made or what they will make. The conversations are usually lively and engaging. It was the best year for selling yarns.
Fred attended Pennsylvania’s first Sheep and Wool Festival in Dayton, Pennsylvania. It was well organized with vendors, classes, and sheep-related activities.
